Istanbul Arel University's Architectural Restoration Undergraduate Program offers comprehensive education to international students with the mission of preserving Turkey's rich cultural and historical heritage and transmitting it to future generations. This program is ideal for international students who wish to specialize in the protection, repair, and repurposing of historical buildings, monuments, and archaeological sites. Thanks to English-medium instruction, students can follow international literature and achieve competence to participate in global restoration projects.
The program's curriculum provides students with a solid foundation by combining theoretical knowledge with practical applications. Courses include architectural history, material science, conservation techniques, documentation methods, structural analysis, and restoration projects. Students learn digital documentation and analysis of historical buildings using modern technologies. Our university, located within Istanbul's historical fabric, offers students opportunities to work on real projects and gain field experience. Our academic staff consists of expert and experienced professors in their fields.
International students graduating from the Architectural Restoration program have wide-ranging career opportunities nationally and internationally. They can work in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, municipalities, foundations, museums, private restoration firms, and international conservation organizations (such as UNESCO, ICOMOS). Our graduates can work as managers, consultants, researchers, or practitioners in historical building restoration projects, actively contributing to the preservation of cultural heritage. Additionally, they have the opportunity to continue their academic careers with master's and doctoral programs.
